Bill Amerine – Bill Amerine is a third-generation Modesto-area farmer and a former City Councilman and Mayor of Escalon. He graduated from Oregon State College and served for six years in the California Air National Guard.
Bill first met David Mraz in 1978, when he chose David as his personal financial advisor. Recognizing an analytical ability in David he hadn’t seen before, Bill joined him at Morgan Stanley in 1999 and in 2007 became a co-founder in Mraz, Amerine & Associates.
As a farmer, Bill grew peaches and almonds and helped expand the use of organic and biological soil amendments. He was elected to the Board of Directors of the California Canning Peach Association and served as President of the Grower’s Harvesting Committee. His family still owns agricultural properties north of Modesto. Bill also served several years on the Memorial Hospitals Association Board of Directors and is active in the Modesto Rotary Club.
Bill’s favorite pastime is backpacking and mule packing with family and friends in the high Sierra wilderness. He and his wife Rosanda were married in 1959 and have two daughters and four grandchildren.
